Visualisation

Jamie, a group member of the Milsom St. Hearing Voices Group, illustrates the way he deals with the voices. Jamie found that drawing the picture was very helpful in itself, a creative act despite the voice. When he showed the picture to the group they were amused and praising of his artistry, as well as being able to understand what he was getting at because it was so clear in the picture

In figure 1 he imagines the strain of juggling with the voices and getting the reward for coping rather than criticising himself!

In figure 2 he imagines shooting the offending nasty voices. This powerful image can be more powerful than the voice.
